Belton by Streetlight

This is a series of photos of my current hometown, Belton, Texas.

For as long as I have owned a camera, streetlights have captivated my interest. And their unique stain on the night and everything that crosses their into their cones of influence is instantly and momentarily altered. Colors seem to disappear, replaced by a universal rusty orange. It can be surprising and yet so well known at the same time.
Standing in a streetlight's orange glow I'm often taken back to my younger days; my brother and me catching junebugs on warm summer nights down the street in front of our home, listening for them to clunk down on the road and then running to look. Or brought back to later times in my life, but still a lifetime of yesterdays ago, late nights in the parking lot of a favorite 24 hour breakfast restaurant, laughing and talking,  no one really wanting to leave,  but nowhere else to go, minutes into hours transformed into a dull monochromatic orange. Again still, I'm taken to a pier on the Pacific Ocean, many empty nights filled with rows of now familiar circles of light, once shining into a clear night, another night now disappearing and also spreading in deep fog, deep thoughts, longings, tossed coins, much simpler times.

Let me know what you think about them. I appreciate insight and advice.
